Easter Open : 18th April 1800-2200 : Stone Boat
With weather conditions good for the Clubs traditional Easter Open 16 anglers drew their peg at the Stone Boat venue on Good Friday. For most anglers the fish failed to turn up in numbers but from the start the low numbers were straight into the fish, with David Walls on peg 2 and Andrew Dugdale on Peg 5 winding in first cast doubles. The last hour into the darkness was going to be key with any fish caught beforehand a bonus. David, always amongst the front runners maintained his catch rate to take a clear win ahead of Andrew. At the other end of the beach Mark Quirk who may have fancied his chances after his convincing win on the same venue last week found the range late on to sneak into third place. At the scales the heaviest fish pools went to David with a 2lb 7oz dogfish and Colin Skillicorn whose first cast Flounder of 1lb 1oz was the only other sizeable species caught.
